"Why I heartily recommend Geeta Bhatia
as your Oracle/Unix instructor...
--Very energetic.
Loves her subject and is always eager to impart
her knowledge about it.
She aims for interactive participation from
her students whenever possible.
Uses the first few minutes of each class as
a review of her previous class,
-so as to bring everyone present up-to-date,
-help students recall what had been discussed
last session if they'd missed it,
-and generate any questions about the material
that had been covered.
--Her focus is a "hands-on" approach,
with plenty of exercises
to simulate a real-world learning experience.
--Very personable.
-I've sat in on multiple sessions of several
of her classes,
and have never heard a single word said about
her by any student
that was not complimentary.
-I've seen her remain calm and cheerful when
dealing with
a stressful student who was having a bad day,
as well as
handling several computers when they were being
uncooperative.
--Consistently goes "the extra mile"
to help her students understand
and come to love the subject as she does, sending
them additional study material
in the form of links, white papers, study tips,
etc.
--Very knowledgeable about her subject.
Uses examples from her work experience to illustrate
a point she's making.
--Always points out questions
-that could appear as a certification exam question
-or be asked in an interview by a prospective
employer.
--Answers students questions fully.
--Answers student emails very quickly, often
within minutes.
--Actively keeps in touch with her current
students through email,
often emailing assignments, schedule changes,
additional helpful sites, pages
and links as ways to help her students more
fully understand a topic.
--Remembers her students from prior classes,
and keeps in touch with them;
takes an eager interest in their future after
completing her class
.
--You'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer person
than Geeta to help you make that move
to the better, more challenging career you've
chosen."
